[2] How to use the maps
The maps show two distinct "zones". Green and Blue. The zones have been denfined relative to the iDirect modems ability to provide DC power to run a 4 Watt BUC without the addition of a seperate DC power supply unit (PSU) and are therefore "uplink power limited".
Smaller antenna can be used in these regions however a larger BUC is required which must be operated with a seperate PSU.
On-Band is conducting tests to define the operational limits of the system at all times. It has been recently noted that sub 1 meter antennae (such as the ERA/NorSat diamond and the SWE-Dish IPT auto aquisition terminal) does have enough gain to receive the downstream 2MB channel in the Green zone and can therefore be used to access the by-the-byte service.
